You may be thinking, SWITZERLAND?! Kind of random, but also totally awesome! I agree 100%! Never in a million years did I think I would be capturing an engagement session in Switzerland – let alone my brother’s engagement session!!
Okay, some back-story feels necessary…
They were planning a several week trip to Europe, and he told us that he was going to propose while they were on their trip. Now, of course I come in with a “you’re gonna want pictures of that, right?!” *wink* *wink* 😁
Being in true brotherly fashion, he didn’t think he would enjoy having his sister and his mom tagging along on his new engagement (did I mention my mom came with me?!). Anyway, he dragged his feet giving us the green light so we went ahead and booked our trip and said “we would be in the area if he changed his mind.” – super convenient if you ask me! Lol
Fast forward, we have now been given the okay to share with his fiancé that we also booked a trip to Europe and somehow our trips overlap and we have some spare time to meet up with them in Switzerland (I told you it was convenient!)
We arrived in Lucerne, Switzerland in the afternoon after he had proposed on top of Mount Pilatus (pictured below) that morning. To say it was amazing would be an understatement. We walked all around Lucerne taking photos and grabbing hold of the reality that we all got to celebrate *and document* their engagement in another country!
Now, you’re probably thinking – dang Mel, you kind of interjected yourself. Yes, yes I did and I will never regret it. The photos and memories made will be cherished forever; and from these pictures you can tell they were more than okay with sharing the joyous occasion.
Keep scrolling for all the landscape goodness that was captured during our time in Europe! We explored Venice (and its coastal islands), Verona, Lake Como and ended our trip in Switzerland. Landscape photography has always been my first love that this trip most definitely reignited that spark!
I can’t wait to return in 2024 for their Tuscany wedding! It is going to be AMAZING!
